S3.1: Outsourcing an existing application to a new company
Use
the following PlanIT and SAM Advisors to develop the iT plan for the app
being outsourced:
- Enterprise
Modeller to build model of the new company site (this may be very simple
depending on the info available about the other company). Also define a site
of your company -- only define the existing business functions (BFs) and
apps that will be outsourced. Also include BFs that will need to be
interfaced with the app being outsourced.
- Application
Advisor to determine an application plan for the site with focus on the
service being outsourced. Also show the related apps of the new company
and what will be automated, what automation strategy will be used (buy,
rent, outsource, develop, extend) and what application packages will be
used.
Use
the following AIM (Architecture and Integration Module) Advisors to determine
how the new division applications will be integrated with the existing
company:
- Business
Problem Explorer to select the application(s) that will be outsourced.
- Intelligent
Requirement Generator to generate requirements for the target
applications
- Integrated
Architecture Advisor and choose remote hosting (outsourcing) to develop
a detailed SOA-based architecture
- Integrated
Solution Advisor to evaluate the suggested architectures
- Reiterate
